Universal Pre-Kindergarten

Dear Parents,

In preparation for the 2012-2012 school year Child Care Resources of Rockland will be hosting Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) information sessions for parents who have a child that will be 4 years old by December 1, 2012 and live in the following school districts:

- Clarkstown
- Nanuet
- North Rockland
- Nyack
- Pearl River
- Ramapo Central
- South Orangetown

2011/2012 UPK News
Child Care Resources of Rockland Inc. is pleased to announce that the applications for the Universal Prekindergarten Program for the 2011/2012 school year will be available as of January 31, 2011. UPK is a free, 2 ½ hour, five day per week, state funded early childhood education program for 4 year olds. Children are eligible for the program if they will be four years of age between December 1, 2010 - December 1, 2011 and reside within a school district that offers UPK. Applications are available for download on our website at www.childcarerockland.org. If you would like an application forwarded to you via mail or email please contact Jenine Valentino at 425-0009 x460 or jeninev@rocklandchildcare.org. You may also stop in to our office at 235 N. Main Street in Spring Valley for a printed copy.

The deadline for submission of applications is March 31st, 2011.   The 2011-2012 UPK Parent Applications will be available online as of January 31 at www.childcarerockland.org - Follow the link for applications.

Applications are available in English, Spanish or French, by visiting the Child Care Resources of Rockland website.

UPK programs are currently conducted at various early childhood programs throughout the county. You may select any program without regard to the district you live in. For a full listing of participating programs please refer to the UPK application.


Do you have a son or a daughter who will be 4 years old by December 1st?


Do you live in the South Orangetown School District?


Your son or daughter may participate in a 2 ½ hour program, 5 days a week, for the duration of the school year.


The Universal Pre-Kindergarten program is being offered by the South Orangetown School District.
